We’re excited to announce that this summer, Brigade Lacrosse is transitioning to outdoor 6s lacrosse—a fast-paced, Olympic-style version of the game that’s gaining momentum across all levels of the sport.

Why the Change?

Our move to the 6s format is a strategic one, driven by several key factors:

• Olympic Alignment: 6s will be the official format for lacrosse in the upcoming Summer Olympics.
• Professional Influence: The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) has embraced 6s in its Championship Series, further validating its future.
• Regional Growth: The DMVI Summer 6s League is gaining traction in Northern Virginia, giving our players the chance to scrimmage and compete with other NOVA teams.

Program Details:

• Cost: $60 (Includes Summer Themed Jersey)
• Location: Gainesville Middle School (GMS)
• Dates: June 2 – July 29
• Times:
  • 8U: Mondays, 6:00 – 7:00 PM
  • 14U: Mondays, 7:00 – 8:00 PM
  • 10U: Tuesdays, 6:00 – 7:00 PM
  • 12U: Tuesdays, 7:00 – 8:00 PM
• Eligibility: No experience necessary.  Players will remain in the same age brackets as the current Spring season.

Optional Add-On: DMVI Summer Sixes League Participation

For players enrolled in the Brigade Summer 6s program who are seeking additional competitive opportunities, we are offering an optional opportunity to participate in the DMVI Summer Sixes League.

• Additional Cost: $175
• Dates: June 12, 19, 26; July 10, 17, 24; Championship Game on July 31
• Time: Thursdays, games between 6:00 – 9:00 PM
• Location: Oakton High School or Nike Park (final site TBD)
• Eligibility: Players will remain in the same age brackets as the current Spring season

Participation in the DMVI League is entirely optional and intended for those seeking additional game play and regional competition.

Ready to give lacrosse a shot? Our free two-week "TryLax" program is the perfect way for first-time players to get introduced to the fundamentals of the game in a fun and supportive environment.
All you need is a lacrosse stick—no pads or protective gear required. Don’t have a stick? No problem! We have loaners available.
The only thing you need is a great attitude and a willingness to try something new!

2025 Summer TryLax Schedule: Wednesdays: July 9, 16

• 5:00p - 6:00p: Boys 6-14 Years old (Gainesville Middle School)

Shootout for Soldiers is a 24-hour lacrosse event benefiting American veterans where participants raise money through registration fees, optional donations, and by playing Lacrosse. The event is fun. It’s not a tournament or about recruiting. The event is all about supporting those who serve our country. 

The event is comprised of 24, 1-hour games in a row.  Brigade fields teams at the 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U & 'Coach' age levels.  Every team will play in at least one, 1-hour game. 

• Schedule: Saturday August 2 - Sunday August 3, 2025
• Location: Gainesville High School

Coaches will be reaching out mid-spring to field teams at each age group.
